Choice Mentor Program Launch

VALID invites you to join them for the official launch of the Choice Mentor Program.

The Choice Mentor Program is aimed at supporting people with a disability to build their capacity to make decisions, about the support they receive from the NDIA, with the assistance from trained volunteers called Choice Mentors. 

VALID has been funded to support people with disabilities to prepare for and engage with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). 

Staying Safe - Swan Hill

VALID will be running an information session about how people can stay safe in their home, service and community.

The session is for people with disability and includes interactive videos, a discussion about 'Staying Safe' and information on different types of abuse.

There will also be resources to take away, including contact details of services that can support people who are feeling unsafe.

Staff are encouraged to attend the information session to provide ongoing support to people to continue the conversation after the session.

Staying Safe - Cowes

VALID will be running an information session about how people can stay safe in their home, service and community.

Moving from Theory to Practice to Practical

The Family Inclusion Network Victoria and VALID along with our Steps to Speaking Up project partners would like to invite you to a day of lived experience, best practice, discussion and an interactive work shop on the topics of parents with learning difficulties or intellectual disability and the child protection system in Victoria.

The invitation is extended to parents, child protection workers, clinicians and anyone interested in attending an informative inclusive day.

Fantastic Flicks

The VALID Banyule Peer Action Group would like to invtie you to attend the Fantastic Flicks screenings.

Short films made by and about people with disability.

The screenings will include:

  • panel discussion with filmmakers talking about their work
  • opportunities to meet film makers and actors
  • lunch and afternoon tea.

Our Choice Expo - Southern

VALID invites you to visit the Our Choice Expo featuring a wide range of services.

This includes: day activity, leisure, travel, personal care, equipment, training, early intervention, housing, technology and other supports available for participants of the NDIS and their families. 

Especially of interest to Southern Metro residents looking to be informed and prepared for the transition to the NDIS during 2019.
