Moving from Theory to Practice to Practical

The Family Inclusion Network Victoria and VALID along with our Steps to Speaking Up project partners would like to invite you to a day of lived experience, best practice, discussion and an interactive work shop on the topics of parents with learning difficulties or intellectual disability and the child protection system in Victoria.

The invitation is extended to parents, child protection workers, clinicians and anyone interested in attending an informative inclusive day.

You will hear first hand from parents who will share their journey to understand and navigate the child protection system.

Our special guest and key note speaker, Professor Maurice Feldman. is a leading expert in parenting by persons with learning difficulties, having designed and scientifically validated the evidence-based Step-by-Step Parenting Program. Kate Fitt, an advocate, will bring together your ideas about communication, trauma and removing unconscious bias.
