On 1 July 2024 a new subsidiary of VALID Inc began operating – VALID Connect.
VALID Connect is a not for profit entity, like VALID, set up to provide fee-based services such as training, consultations and development and user-testing of Easy Read materials.
VALID Connect now provides the services previously offered by VALID’s Training & Consultations team.
It has the same dedicated and experienced staff and the same focus on providing high quality and tailored services that will meet clients’ needs in a timely and responsive way.
VALID Connect’s current services include:
Training:
VALID Connect can arrange and deliver training for people with disabilities and family members. Our courses include the popular Staying Safe and Keys to Success for people with disabilities, Succession Planning for family members and for emerging self advocates The Empowering Advocacy Method (TEAM) created by VALID’s Founder Kevin Stone AM.
Consultations:
when you need to consult with or get feedback from people with intellectual disability, on virtually any matter, VALID Connect has an unrivalled capacity to arrange and facilitate this quickly and easily. We rely on VALID’s extensive groups and networks to get ready access to people with intellectual disability who are experienced in and available for consultations.
Easy Read:
when faced with the challenge of converting complex information in truly accessible language, come to the experts – VALID Connect has decades of experience in translating a wide range of materials into the accessible Easy Read format. We’ll work closely with you to develop and deliver a high quality product that meets your needs.
Over time VALID Connect plans to expand the range of services it offers and will employ or engage more people with lived experience of disability to coordinate and deliver them.
