In This Together
What is the In This Together project?
The aim of the In This Together project is to assist the vibrant and diverse Surf Coast, Warragul and Drouin communities create sustainable opportunities to connect meaningfully with local individuals who have intellectual and cognitive disabilities. Together we can make community wide inclusion and participation a reality.
How do you do that?
As the name suggests, we’re all in this together. To make inclusion across all areas of the community attainable, ideas and opportunities must be shared and implemented by local stakeholders. We want to hear from local individuals, groups, businesses and organisations about barriers to inclusion and then co-design ways to overcome these barriers together. If you want to be part of this change, then we want to hear from you!
Who is it for?
Everybody. A community that involves everyone, regardless of difference, is a community that places wellbeing at its heart. We think it’s time for folks with intellectual and cognitive disabilities to be active citizens in the Surf Coast… to have jobs, be in clubs, on committees, welcomed by groups… just like everyone else.
How can I get involved?
We want to meet as many community members as we can. Get in touch with us, we do not charge any fees. Let us know you are keen to be part of this positive change. We are happy to meet with you at any stage of your accessible journey… and if we pop in to say ‘g’day’, don’t be a stranger.
