Summary
VALID is looking for 5 people with disability to join two focus groups for the Community Conversations project. Participants will receive a $100 gift card for each meeting and taxi vouchers.
VALID is inviting people with disability to take part in focus groups for a new pilot project called Community Conversations.
The project aims to improve communication between people with disability and:
- Victoria Police
- legal professionals such as lawyers and courts
- mainstream community and business organisations
We want to hear about your experiences and ideas. Your feedback will help us understand how these organisations can communicate better with people with disability and support people to make decisions using supported decision making.
Focus group details
We are looking for 5 people with disability to attend two focus group sessions.
Meeting 1
Tuesday 7 April 2026
1pm – 3pm
This session will focus on experiences communicating with:
- police
- lawyers
- courts
Meeting 2
Tuesday 14 April 2026
1pm – 3pm
This session will focus on experiences communicating with:
- workers from gyms, shops and cafes
- workers from sports centres and community organisations
Location
Both meetings will be held in person at the VALID office.
