How do I get on the Program for HaS 2025?
Expression of Interest (EOI)
EOI have now closed, but we will take late EOI which will go on the waiting list for a vacancy.
EOI open in July of each year for people with disability and disability groups to put in to:
- do a presentation (15, 20 & 30 minute timeslots available)
- perform (15 and 30 minute timeslots)
- tell their story (5, 10 and 15-minute timeslots available)
- run a workshop (30 and 60 minute timeslots)
NOTE: HaS is a ‘self-advocacy conference’ not a service provider conference, so EOI are not accepted from service providers to talk about their service.
However, we do welcome EOI from organisations about topics that will empower and inform participants, such as rights, new supports, complaints, changes that participants need to know about, community supports, etc.
EOI closed on the 29th of August 2024, but we will take late EOI’s:
- Late EOI’s will go on a waiting list
- If a cancellation creates a vacancy, we will contact people and offer a timeslot.
Email contacts are at the bottom of the page.
Who gets priority?
Priority (who gets in first) will be given to presentations, workshops, and performances that:
- involve people with disabilities in the planning and writing of the presentation
- are presented/performed by a person/people with disability
- relate to the conference theme Our Lives, Our Voices!
- talk about the achievements and contributions of people with disability
When will I find out if my presentation has been accepted?
VALID will select EOI that meet the priorities (above).
People will be notified by the end of September 2024 if their EOI is successful.
We welcome questions and different ideas.
