How can people with intellectual disability get more say about what they do every day?
VALID’s Self Advocacy team helps Day Services and Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) to:
- Support participants to make their own decisions
- Listen to and act on decisions that participants want their Day Service or ADE to make about the service
- Train Day Service and ADE participants to co-design and run advisory or representative groups. These groups share information with Day Service and ADE staff about how they want the service to run
- Work with services to improve through quality initiatives and create accessible resources.
